  2.  @Itried20takennames  I couldn’t agree with you more regarding the treatment of animals (particularly dolphins & whales) by the Japanese, which I find to be enraging & inexcusable (but which, unfortunately, are pretty widespread throughout Asia…. While the Japanese mainly confine their cruelty to aquatic species, the Chinese seem to have no limits and will (within ten years—according to WWF), drive three more African species to extinction (due to their mania for “ground African Elephant Tusk powder” and “Snow Leopard Claws” ), both of which they use in medicines & as amulets—and about which the Chinese Gov. refuses to do anything to stop…. The same pertains to China’s enormous Wet Markets—which engage in the most horrific cruelty & indifference toward the suffering of animals, including the endangered species they sell as special culinary “treats”….(While in Korea; puppies and grown dogs are a frequently eaten meal)…..Def for the animal lover, Asia can be a House of Horrors.

  3. …..Pretty mind-blowing that you would equate intentionally “lowering” your child’s standard of living — to the “lowering of tensions” between two countries…. Because that IS what would happen (as much as you seem to view your child’s support payments as your ex’s “mad money,” it is she that has to PAY all of the child’s bills & expenses —which are substantial)….The CHILD always suffers when support payments are reduced through “job loss,” etc You seem confused : It is the COURT (not your “wife”) who determines “how much” your support should be….And, it is ILLEGAL for her to “decide” to “accept less” from you. Only a COURT can make that determination.
