@ja_xin Excellent points.…The “temperature “ must be lowered right now. One of the things I respect most about PM Lee (and his father before him) is his constant determination to do so…. I cannot wait to return to Singapore later this year for my annual visit (although it’s a 20-hour total flight time, it’s very much worth the effort)….

Zou Yuo—I just love her style : gorgeous dress, jewelry & HAIR (trendy AND retro :)

@davidrichards1741 ….If you are an American, I’m EMBARRASSED on your behalf. So incredibly rude—and untrue…..
2
Why so insecure? I notice that almost every Chinese commenter has to always make “anti-US” comments….Those who are truly strong & secure do not do such things.

….Yeah….Why should humans have any “rights?”

Hahaha…. He spoke his mind—and correctly. What makes you think PM LEE would agree with one country trying to take another by FORCE?!?

@franko1904 You are not a Native American speaker (if you are, you really need to work on your use of past/present tense)…
1
PM Lee & Pres Marcos respect International Law (AND Maritime Laws)…. Something China has trouble understanding.

Why the phony name? “Robert Schwarzenegger” 😂

You are indeed fortunate (the closest I can come is to visit your lovely country 1x a year—worth the 20+ hrs to get there :)

@leealex24 Look up the definition of the word “corruption.”

@jjsamuelgunn1136 I believe that SG will try her utmost to always remain neutral…. If forced to “choose,” you might not like who they choose….

@hupthyetan7693 China has a terrible corruption problem among officials—one of the worst in the world. The original commenter is correct. I saw LKY’s interview where he said that he adopted the American system of psychological testing of potential applicants….He also did something unique & completely original : SG pays its public servants more than any other nation (in order to limit corruption)—and they have a “0” tolerance policy towards corrupt officials….Although the U.S. has fairly low corruption among officials—I will wager that SG beats it by a mile….

Yes—a very wise & lovely man who has excellent relations with the West, and many friends there….
1
No—they just hate the CCP supporting the Myanmar military takeover—and their killing of tens of thousands of Myanmar civilians.
1
@alanbgtan ….The US (Like most European countries) has very little corruption among public officials. This is one of the first things noticed by the tens of millions of Chinese who have emigrated to the US…
1
….If the West wasn’t “superior” in so many areas, other countries wouldn’t copy them so much….
1
@NewmaticKe Think you’re confusing “educating” (at university) with “training.” Chinese system & leadership is poles apart from that of Singapore ….Singaporeans would never surrender their freedoms (open internet, etc)….
1
Why?? (They seem to be doing just fine on their own :)
1
@moosaanwar7919 He is probably referring to China’s claiming of almost the entire China Sea (!) —and ignoring International Rules of the Sea, running roughshod over other countries’ EEZs, and refusing to observe rulings from the Int’l Court in The Hague ….

PM Lee—like his father before him—is a very proud Singaporean (and disliked being called “Chinese”)…. Also, he spent many, many years living in the UK—never lived in China.
