  3.  @peterlim1972 Nowhere near the “same.’….What’s missing from China’s unemployment numbers is the small print : The recent spate of 8 million Chinese grads were informed that they would “not be given” their diplomas—unless all seniors provide “evidence” of having found employment (one form of evidence was the student setting up a Weibo site (Chinese YT)—the implication eine they would be “self-employed”….Almost every university in China participated in this scam—all for the sake of “improving” the youth unemployment rate…. Then, there is the definition of “employment,” itself…In China, ONE HOUR of work per week is counted as “full-time” employment (the only wonder is that, even with all of these gimmicks, China still listed an almost 25% youth unemployment rate…Several Chinese economists believe the number is closer to 50%; several of the most prestigious Chinese economists (after deciding to use “25 hrs/week” as criteria for employment) believe China’s real youth unemployment is at 80% — or higher…. (And, that’s why the situation in any Western country simply cannot be compared to China’s far more dire forecast)….
