This is one of the most convoluted rationalizations I have heard any analyst yet give on the HB saga….To say that HB wanted immunity “in order to protect himself” from an alleged witch trial by some future (fantasy) Trump Admin is carrying Hunter’s water to the nth degree…. A future “Trump Admin” could “use the Justice Dept” to go after his political enemies (you mean the way the CURRENT Admin has weaponized Justice against Trump? Swear to god, we’re looking more & more like a banana republic—with folks like you singing, “Burn, baby, burn!” Btw, I am not a Republican & I did not vote for Trump, but, JC, can’t you see what’s happening to this country?? We’ve got Xi’s economy (and grip on power) imploding in the East—and it seems as if no one has ever picked up a history book to learn what happens when Authoritarians are losing support….A blockade/invasion of Taiwan IS coming (sooner than you “nattering nabobs of negativism” think)….Put the damned knives away. Past presidents have done FAR WORSE than what Trump is accused of (and half of the country sees these multiple—many ridiculous—lawsuits as witch hunts)…. No, it is NOT because Hunter “fears future prosecution” by a nonexistent Trump Admin. Trump is NOT going to be President again (and he darn well knows it)….He fears what he likely has good reason to fear : Pay-outs from foreign Governments (for access—as the “son of the then-VP)….And what’s more, anyone with any wits knows it…. The man’s ethics are nonexistent…. IF this had been “Donald Jr” (same charges)—YOU would be screaming bloody murder about his “SWEETHEART DEAL” (and do insult our intelligence by pretending otherwise)….Pathetic that you are what passes for “journalists”….If more of you spent any good amount of time living in (not visiting) other countries, you might have an inkling of what we are slowly losing in this country with these RIDICULOUS “culture wars”…..Grow UP.
