Oh—it’s VERY MUCH ABOUT China’s dislike of ANY “rules” not made by them ….One example : being a signatory to UNCLOS — yet rejecting an UNCLOS ruling not favorable to them ( the 2008 judgement that awarded land—that is clearly within the Philippines EEZ—to the Philippines)….Though 800+ miles away, China claims it as its own…. Neither China nor Russia are countries based on “Law”—but on corruption, personal gain—and the whims of the current tyrant….( It would be beyond disaster if either got a leg up in world affairs)

Won’t work. (Geopolitics 101).…One by one, EVERY country will be required to “choose sides.” It’s happening as we speak—and will only accelerate….(There are good reasons why India has consistently been on the short end of the stick)….

@lijianzhao4444 ….Not only the “Anglo-Saxons.” Japan is an integral member of “The West” (among others)….But, IF the West feels seriously threatened (as in WWII), they will pool their most brilliant minds—to devastating effect…. Xi is a very parochial, little-travelled man, who was deprived of a serious education (due to the timing of the Cultural Revolution)….As such, his vision is insular and completely Sino-centric, as he consistently repeats the same errors as the similarly Japanese-centric Tojo made in assessing Western strength & resolve prior to challenging the US in 1941….He woke the “Sleeping Giant”….

@qingzhou9983 That was a 100% conventional war— in which Mao threw hundreds of thousands of Chinese bodies (and lives) at a force 1/10th the size. Conventional weapons were used…. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that if you don’t care how many of your men die (and Mao couldn’t have cared less), you will almost overwhelm with sheer numbers in conventional warfare….The next war WILL NOT BE “conventional” (no matter how many Little Pinks line up for suicide duty)
