Merely its own ppl….The whims of its emperors destroyed any hope of a navy, or exploration — so China ossified in its isolation. .…By the time that China was forced to compete with the West—it found that it couldn’t.…China only began to prosper when it opened up (and learned how Western industry & business worked)….You might not like it—but it’s the truth
