I must say that I side with Japanese doctors on this one….While accurate “statistics” are presented as being “necessary & critical,” by certain groups, surely the dignity and the confidentiality of both the deceased and their next of kin should be at least equally valued? ….The survivors are dealing with enough guilt—without the entire world wondering “How they missed” the signs?

His speech to S Korea & Japan a few days ago— supposed to be one of RECONCILIATION —was crude, cruel and impolitic (mocking S Koreans for their “plastic surgery “ and Japanese, for “wanting to be White”)….Analysts predict there WILL be retribution from both countries for such a breathtaking breach of etiquette ….

  22.  @coraltown1  During the four years I worked in Japan (at my country’s embassy), I never ceased to be amazed at the amount of money and brain power the Japanese put toward improving safety in all facets of daily life… From skyscrapers built on foundations designed to “rock” during even the most powerful earthquakes…to “catch hooks” built into the walls of elevator shafts, which are designed to deploy from the sides of the shaft in the event an elevator cable snaps, stopping the elevator (and occupants) from plunging down the shaft….to life preservers which only inflate in the presence of water, for every passenger on a bullet train—that spends only 5 mins out of a 2-hr journey traversing water….The amount of time, money and effort the Japanese put into foreseeing possible safety hazards—and preventing them from occurring in the first place—is, I believe, unmatched by any other country that I know of.

You believe that China is the “best” only because you haven’t lived in a Western country. ( Judging by the huge numbers of wealthy Chinese who have left China and moved to the West, I would say that they didn’t like being treated like children, either )

So, one of the possible reasons for Xi’s G-20 “no-show” was in order to save face (in the event China’s worsening economic situation might be highlighted)….While, not mentioning meetings at the summit between Biden & Xi’s #2 may also have been done for Xi, in order to “save face?”….
