  1.  @chayew4660  You get a flu shot so you don't HAVE to hide in your house during flu season. Getting a flu shot is like staying indoors when there's an active lightning storm in your area. It's just good sense and reduces your overall risk.

  6. I feel like ADR always stood out in films, and kind of took me out of the scene. Like, I'm sure the mixers and foley artists and stuff do the best they can to make it seamless, and to be fair I'm sure the good jobs they did are ones I never even noticed. But every so often in older movies and TV shows, I'd just be sitting there and suddenly one line sounds louder and the resonance is slightly different. It's sharper. It doesn't quite line up with the lips, if they show the character speaking. It's jarring and always took me out of the immersion. I'm glad we don't do it as much anymore but at the same time, I'm not sure if needing captions all the time for mumbly speech is much better.

  7. Why did no one consider a crossing island? Simply adding an island in between the two sides of the road would make a vast improvement. The pedestrians would not only have to cross fewer lanes at a time, but also would only have to focus on looking in one direction at once. Stroads like this have to go, but in the meantime, there are ways to make them safer. "Just add more crosswalks and traffic lights" doesn't work when the cars don't respect them to begin with.

  11. I think future generations will look back on shipping container homes the same way we look back on flour sack dresses during the Depression. An unfortunate result of hard times that ultimately was a temporary solution until we got something better. At least, I hope so.
