There has been a battery recycling industry for decades. Where on earth you get this idea that the taxpayer is copping the recycling costs nobody knows, I think you just made that up in your head. The guts in batteries are worth money and recycle companies buy them. They get shipped by truck dude, like far out, how do you think everything else gets in and out of small towns.
