  1. I learnt to drive in a manual cars back in the dark mists of time, now i've had a lot of cars like over a hundred. Think about 4 of them were automatic including my current one, it's just easier with an auto in traffic. Were I live they passed a law, if you learn in a manual you can drive any transmission, but if you learn in an automatic you can only use an auto. But if you want to drive a manual and you learnt in in an automatic, you have to be retested in a manual.

  2. Last manual car I had was 2009 to 2014, the next car was CVT with 5 speed sports shift was kinda like a manual without the clutch that was 2014 to 2021. My current car is a 2011 4x4 suzuki I got in 2021 it's a grandpas car so it's auto.

  3. Driving with one hand on the shifter all the time not a good way to drive, you have less control of your steering. I've also seen vid's of yanks strangling the gear knob to change gear, using the bottom of your palm and the tips of your fingers generally gives a smoother change.
