As automatic cars are by far the most common cars in Australia, all learning and testing are done in automatics. You can go back after you get your licence and train in a manual for a fee if you want.

In South Australia even after school hours in school zones if children are present, school zone speed limits apply.

@hsal79 couldn't do that in Australia from theory to provisional has to be at least 12 months and another 2 year's to get your full licence. Can't get your truck licence until you've been to a driving school form at 3 months before you can go for your truck licence.

Theory test is a lot tougher here, we have I think 10 picture questions at the beginning you need to get 8 right if not it's an automatic fail and you have to rebook to do the test again. I had to do mine 4 times.

Never heard of anyone running errands for the driving instructor, must be because it's done through high schools in the US. It's done privately in Australia, most lessons are an hour long and can cost up to $100 aud an hour. l

@IWrocker think at the moment it costs about $3,200 aud to your licence if there are none fails.
