  1. You need to remember some of the states and territories have a lot smaller populations than the east coast, so the amount of plate styles will be smaller. No point in having plates if people aren't buying them.

  2. The plates can't be touched, they have to be as purchased from the authorities. You change them in any way you have to surrender your plates, get fined, points added to your licence and then purchase new plates. While you're doing all that vehicle can't be driven until new plates are on your vehicle, think that's the same across Australia.

  3. I just have a regular plate, I'm too cheap to give the government body extra money for a fancy plate. Interesting side note, when veteran and vintage plates are retired and returned to the government.
