  1. Outstanding documentary. I can recommend the book by Bredin The Affair very complete but long. This extraordinary affair divided French society and lasted an incredible 12 years before it was finished with court martials, court cases, suicide, resignations, violent protests and attempted assassinations. It had political consequences that are still significant today.
