  8. It was certainly brilliant and changed the course of the war. They Germans were pushed back hundreds of kilometers and lost their most powerful army. Except for Karkov the Germans were on the defensive until the Soviets reached Berlin.

  9. One can always view with hindsight what would have been a better tactic. However the whole operation was very successful for the Soviets anda disaster for the Germans and was one of the turning points of the war. And none of the Germans got away.
