And then it all came to nothing, because we put the Mafia back in charge. Go us. Not defending fascism here, but I just find it ironic that the one good thing done by the bad guys was reversed by the good guys after the war. And before you lecture me about moral grayness, I am of the opinion that the war was a case of black-and-gray morality: the Nazis and Japan were pitch-black, and Italy was light black, almost gray; the Allies could teeter towards VERY dark gray at the worst, with the USSR only narrowly avoiding being black because the Soviets COULD be humane from time to time.
