Comments by "Alan Pennie" (@alanpennie8013) on "Hungary in World War II | TIK Q&A 25" video.
Hungary and Croatia had been closely associated since the dynastic union of 1102 after which Croatia was effectively the coastal part of Hungary (though the legal position was much more complicated especially after both kingdoms got merged into The Habsburg Empire).

@vallergergo737 I'm afraid Tik's economic notions are bizarre. Pity because on other topics he's well - informed.

Huh! Bulgaria was a member of The Axis too, and it made a point of keeping out of the War with The Soviet Union.

@HomercleeseSimpson I don't think TIK is totally wrong. There was a degree of overlap in Eastern Europe. You can see it in Romania where the Cold War "national communist" government followed a similar line to fascists who preceded them in power.

@partytor11 Commitment to Enlightenment ideals of internationalism should stop leftists falling into fascism but the effectiveness of this seems to vary a lot according to time and place.

@randomdude4136 I don't think libertarianism in either its left or right variations has ever been much of a thing in Eastern Europe.

@partytor11 You're right. I should have said, Not much of a thing outside Russia (and Poland).
