Yes it's incorrect. Nazism isn't really the same thing as national socialism. You could make a reasonable case that national socialism was destined to be the most popular political formation in CEE after 1919. As the Czech case indicates it was perfectly compatible with liberal democratic norms. But Hitler's movement, though it had nationalism and socialism in the mix (it wouldn't have been popular otherwise) was actually driven by racism, revanchism and the idea of a military conquest of the region (Lebensraum). Hitler's misleading choice of a name has distorted our understanding of the period ever since.
