In case it escaped your attention video gamers are a bigger consumer base than Hollywood and very much played a part in the cultural shift that allowed for Trump. Cos we’re sick of shady business practices and tired of woke rubbish and being smeared by the media. It’s like people are not allowed hobbies ffs. And heaven forbid one makes a career out of video games or stays in touch with their inner child or has a social network of gamers.

@SamiiYou Barring DOOM I’ve not touched triple A since about 2018. The indy scene has reached a point where it’s silly to pay 70 dollars, soon to be 100 apparently, for a broken buggy mess with limited features compared to titles from years gone by, microtransactions galore, probably some questionable woke stuff in there and you’re lucky to find replayability features. Or I can pay 10-30 in the indy scene and get a working product that generally beats out what AAA is doing in terms of gameplay loop. Well. So long as you are careful about grabbing early access titles from devs that have not proven themselves. But either way I can see a market correction coming for the big names in western gaming. Hopefully it won’t drag down Eastern studios who seem to be doing better anyway in terms of giving gamers what they want.
