Good lord now I’ve heard it all. Banning Alaskans from using wood stoves in any way shape or form seems pretty peak clown world to me. Like I can get regulating the crap outta them in city type areas and even minimal regs that stop shady people from selling questionable flues and the like. But I associate wood stoves with modern Alaskans like I do castles for ancient England. How could anyone deny them their stove in favour of a stove that they cannot fuel themselves without a massive infrastructure in place Vs chopping some trees down on their property?

@uhtred7860 someone should ask her to explain why that is a good idea without mentioning C02. And even then we all know what a grift the anti c02 lobby is.

Here in the UK, especially the North of England and Scotland, the legacy of North Sea gas finds means most people still have at minimum a gas hob if not a gas oven as well. I myself have an electric oven and a gas hob. It’s probably bias having grown up with gas but I prefer gas over induction, seems easier to control the heat but that is just me being subjective probably. Plus I have a legit Bialetti hob percolator. There’s something to be said about the old school asthetic, aroma, taste of fresh coffee brewed over a flame of some description.

@Intelwinsbigly it may be a Bri’ish term. The hob is the top part of your cooker, the part where you heat pans.
