  2. Well then. I never thought I would find the day that I would stand with Morriesy and that is because he is so god damn clueless about the British monarchy. If you want to attack the Monarchy you do not go after the tax shtick. Why? Because the Royals are funded via a mechanism called the Royal Rebate and this mechanism was derived after two civil wars so that the people would not be taxed to fund the Royals, only the Government that provided them with services and defense of the realm. So how does this work? Well the Royal Estate ie all of the properties owned by the Royals have their revenue turned over to the Government to the tune of 100%. However 20% is then returned to the Royals so that the upkeep of the Royal Estate can be maintained as well as Royal Expenses, outside of security if I recall correctly(former PMs get free specialist security as well). This means that the Queen is effectively on a 80% tax bracket and has an entire brood to provide for as well as Castles, Manner Houses/Country Homes and even a Palace to maintain. Now I may not be a big supporter of those Guttenbergs sitting on the Thrown, whom were pally pally with Jimmy Saville and one Prince Andrew flew to Jeffery Epstein's Island on numerous occasions, but if you attack the Royals over We The People paying for them style thinking then you have fallen for propaganda and do not understand how Britain kept it's Monarchy alive through reform rather than killing it off like in France. Disclaimer. The current bracket for the Monarchy has been reduced to 75% so that 320 million could be raised to fund absolutely essential upgrades (place still has lead based central heating if I recall right) to Buckingham Palace and this was done so that the public would not be paying for it. I say this as again this is an attack angle that is wholly lacking in validity as Queenie will go back to 80% taxation once the work is done.

For it takes two to Tango and that wannabe commie Scargill knew the Iron Lady was not for turning yet he still used his precious communities of proud working class people to try and bring down a government. And in the process he was and is just as culpable as Thatcher in tearing apart families and communities. If not more so as he acted out dogma, the Iron Lady out of pragmatism. Those nationalized mines were not profitable. They were a net loss on an already beleaguered economy. End of.
