Canada is not socialist, nor is Europe. That's why and both are free market enterprise with varying degrees of 'progressive' taxation rates.

Damn straight, talk about a patriot.

How do you know it's true marx inspired ism? Because it does not work and makes the lot of the little people far worse.

On that I concur but I would feel compelled to add that marx inspired isms have been objectively the worst system in the context of recent history. (200 years)

Sorry but the burden of evidence points to Bernie being of socialism which is nothing to do with free markets and then there is his ignorance of basic economic principles. There comes a point where taxation becomes punitive and actually encourages tax avoidance on the corporate level which in turn depresses investment levels within companies and reduces tax receipts in the long term. See the 55% top tax rate in Britain under Tony Blair's Labour. Tax people, not legal entities and don't tax the people too much at that. Personally I'd say remove people earning less than 20k from tax and reduce the top tax bracket to 35% over one million and 25% for everything under that. The Market will take care of the rest so long as Government enforces minimal regulation and breaks up monopolies so there is always competition. And yes, that means the Central Banks. Something Bernie neglects in his economic policies. When money based on debt is the problem more spending through borrowing is not the answer and that is what I see him going for even as he speaks about taxing productive folks upwards of 50%. How would you feel if half of your labour was taken but he government? And remember that Governments are notoriously bad with money. It's one of the reasons I actually like Trump, he is a money man and not in a Bankster way.

Estivel Garcia For crying out loud man. Now that was worthy of Cathy Newman alla Peterson interview. No. I am not saying that, see Libya under Qaddafi and Syria under Assad pre proxy, so called civil, war. They both had universal health care but both worked because it was not based on Socialism and was a hard man rule. Although I'll concede it was based on Central Planning. I am saying your claim about democracy, constitution and government is flawed. Democracy does not work for all peoples. Venezuelan socialised health care is failing through a combination of low average IQ (83) combined with Socialist doctrine started by Chavez and continued by Maduro.

TheGreaterGood80 And funnily enough most of the Continent has a private insurance based health system in place. The one actually socialist health care system, the NHS of Britain, is an inefficient mess that has been made to big to fail and is continually used as a wedge issue by politicians that want your vote.

Even though you'll only catch them talking about the Nordic Bloc now. What a coincidence eh?

Estivel Garcia And what would the life expectancy of the US if the ballers were removed from the equation? Also, could it be that racial homogeneity plays a part?

wozza59 I agree although I think the high tax thing is going to change over the coming years or at least people are increasingly fed up with punitive tax rates. The only problem is Merkel Madness has added tens of millions of unproductive and benefit using illegal economic migrants that will want the well educated folk to keep on paying high tax rates to fund the welfare state. Europe has really put itself in a pickle generationally speaking in my honest opinion. Take London and add twenty years of continued mass immigration, it'll look like down town Baghdad or Chicago and places like Paris and Malmo are well ahead of London. Looks like the Visegrad 4 will outdo Western Europe at this rate lol.

Estivel Garcia I did not say anything about no government though:S As for the claim itself. I largely agree but democracy only works for homogeneous ethnic groups. Highly tribal areas of the world need a less democratically accountable rule to hold them together.See Libya with Qaddafi rule and without. Same with Syria. When you have Yazidi, Sunni, Shi'te,Wahhabi,Alawite, Coptic Christian,Kurdish etc etc tribal groups in one nation democracy cannot function as intended due to ethnocentrism tribalism creating a dysfunctional set of voting blocs that only want to outdo one another. It takes a firmer hand to guide such a nation. Homogeneous populations tend to split into the right left dialectics whereas heterogeneous populations don't.
