  1. I'm going from memory here but isn't there a study on the last African nation to get television (Angola) and their violent crime rates consistently went up for years afterwards? It's an old study published in the early/late 90s so its likely memoryholed sick ways to Sunday but I could swear the report basically concluded that TV erodes socetial morales over time leading to crime and degeneracy. Kinda like how with the internet it was assumed there would be end to mass ignorance thanks to the sum total of human knowledge being at ones finger tips but all it led to was more crime and degeneracy.
