The local coppers dug into him once he started speaking out about issues in his local area and they found out about some minor fraud stuff relating to a mortgage, if I recall correctly. Then they brought charges against him out of the blue. So yeah. Trumped up charges should be seen as a mark of tyranny once they go from rare to a common tool of a given government.
