One of the OG conspiracy theories that got me interested in such things was the Smithsonian destroying skeletal evidence that vindicated a native American legend about the tribes uniting together to lay siege to some red haired giants that had terrorised one tribe for many generations. And then many years later I read of that account of an American unit in Afghanistan that engaged a red headed giant human. Isolated relic populations of Giganto? Who knows but I can't help but feel there's something to there having been giants in our recent past or even now. Crazier things have happened.

  2. This Thing a Quiet Madness Made. Probably one of my favourites and there was another one that was not very long but I loved the premise. A warehouse of pipes of all different diameters and materials that was always shifting and changing and attempts to cut back the pipes inside the warehouse cause more aggressive pipe growth and after a mobile task force unit was lost pipes made of human tissue were found. Love the SCP foundation. It's really good stuff when it walks that fine line of believability. I can take or leave the more fleshed out stuff although that said The Red Pool is also one of my favourite SCPs as well as Daleport. And of course Telepathic Spider for the sheer cuteness. And then Where The Dragons Went for a suprisingly heart wrenching and kinda epic SCP. As a creative effort that has been mostly decentralised and unowned The Foundation is probably one of the most fertile hot beds of modern creativity. PS. Infinite Ikea. Another cracking SCP imo.

  3. I think I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream is a direct inspiration behind Roko's Basilisk and now I know I am eternally, digitally, fucked. Also on the OP material. It's good damn genius grade human condition stuff. Like a condensed and more F'ed take on humanity that Terry Pratchett did with the social/human condition commentary disguised as fantasy that were the Discworld works. The cut content as well, in the video game that is. AKA cannibal baby eating. Yikes. The graveyard scene as well let alone when that raincoat came to life.... MFW I've never played the game nor read the book but I've sat through precisely one playthrough of the game that went through all characters and got the good ending via nasty scientist dude. The player had never played the game before but was guided by someone who had played it many times. A very good Let's Play that has stuck with me enough to write this some 5 years later. I only watched the 1st video as I had seen enough memes to wonder what the game was about. Yeah. It sticks with you. I personally liked the dude with no heart's story arch the most even if nasty scientist dude is the most interesting. Also as someone that was in psychodynamic group therapy at the time the whole ID/ego takedown of AM was genuinely helpful in my trajectory for getting better in life. You see my ID was ruined but my ego raged. That one conversation in a video game based on a fever dream of a book truly helped my become a better person. So I suppose I really should at the very least get around to adding I Have No Mouth And Must Scream to my bookshelf. Further great video Wendigoon. As per.

  6. Do you know what gets me about deep water? The way you can look down and see the light run out but know there is an unseen depth beyond that limit. Really fucks with me and I've only been in seas a couple of times. And that one time on holiday I swam in the Atlantic. That was great except for that moment I looked down. There was a Kraken down there, I just know it.

  8. What the actual fook…the memes about trigger happy American popo are not only real but historied. That’s messed up they shot one of their own, dumped thousands of rounds into the house for no reason and then committed arson. Waco was indeed restrained in comparison.
