That's the thing with gas station food appliances. They should be as safe as anything in McDonalds but when it just one person working a pretty lousey job corners get cut. Good on you for maintaining food standards. Says the guy who works as a chef for a living lol.

@tigertoxins584 Hard pass on that logic for me. I keep saying to the front of house staff that there's a reason chefs get paid more. Cos if we fuck shit up people can die. Forgetting all that could you cope with the knowledge you killed some poor SOB cos you didn't want to do your job properly? I''m only just earning above minimume wage now I'm teamleader and I'm still grafting. Apparently muh kitchen is regarded as one of the cleanest in company. Scares me to think what the other 3000 odd kitchens are like o.0

I once stayed up 72 hours for someones birthday party that turned into a full 3 days of speed, weed and alcohol. I then went and did a ten hour night shift. So I went for 82 hours and was on a massive comedown/hangover for the final ten hours. Was hella fun for the most part, even the night shift as by that point I was somewhat delerious. How I did not get sent home for being under the influence of something is beyond me. But hey, that was when I was 21. Turned 34 yesterday and doubt I could do that again. However as you imagine I didn't do much sitting down in that timeframe.

@tigertoxins584 Fair shout dude, sounds like you are simply better than that place anyway. Go get that attitude employed elsewhere, from what I'm hearing places are crying out for chefs/cooks and paying accordingly. Sounds like you'd be valuable on a busy pass. Take care.

OP, that’s some rough stuff. But I get it. It’s the age old you can chose friends but not family. Thanks for sharing as well.

I spent 4 years in group psychodynamic therapy. Pretty difficult 4 years of my life but one of the best things I ever did. I didn’t have the kind of issues as CC but regardless. Gentlemen, talk to people about your problems, physical or mental, and hopefully you won’t end up like me ie spending a chunk of my 20s in professional therapy.

@isaac4242 Hey dude, not over sharing as far as I'm concerned. Sounds like you've had a pretty rough time of it so I'm glad to hear you are doing better. I spent quite some years in counselling for various shit so I get it. More often than not the drugs (that includes alcohol) are just used as a band aid for much deeper problems, heck even things like spending all day playing vidya games getting nothing done is kinda the same thing. That said I went to Creamfields (largest EDM festivel in Europe) on speed/MDMA 3 times so the drugs are not all bad lol. But anyway, take care my friend.

I used the be quite the freestyle raver back in the day. Number of times I had to stop people drinking the contents of of my NATO 6" standard issue glowsticks was absurd. Fair enough if you wanna try and tank the possible toxic effects of ingesting stronger than ususal glow in the dark stuff but the thing is the active compounds are stored in a glass phial that breaks up when you crack the glowstick. So yeah. Not worth it.

Oh dear lord I just had to pause at the moment "hadn't had a dump for 3 weeks". And comment saying I have IBS, gotta be careful what I eat when i eat and all that so good lord. This gonna be bad.... I've never understood how anyone can go more than a day or 2 without passing and not get on the phone to the doctor. That shit (ba dum tsch) is not right. But then again my guts scream at me if I miss a window of opportunity. Not much fun but that's what I get for being a fussy eater growing up and not getting anywhere near enough fibre for years on end. These days however I have to catch myself when I call myself a fussy eater cos sure, I can't abide cooked onion but raw red onion on some iceberg lettuce with sweetcorn and red chilli makes a banging side salad. So basically most people are more fussy eaters than I am these days XD Moral of the story. Too little fibre = bad. Too much fibre = bad. Ying and Yang in everything.

A billion pieces of bacon you say? Challenge accepted.

Sounds like a Darwin Award contender to me. Also the amount of people that are pre-diabetic but don'tn even know it is of genuine concern. It's a ticking time bomb in an increasingly obese world with non complex carbohydrate rich modern diets.

Was this person Hunter Biden using cheese once again in unintended ways?

@zyzyx4157 amma dude who spent 4 years in psycho dynamic therapy. You can not only learn to deal but grow to a better person than you ever could have imagined. But first ya gotta accept some culpability. Or at least, your comment betrays someone that knows they done wrong by people that are important to them but wrap such things in excuses. No matter what. I wish you well.

That’s, that’s er…that’s a lotta terrible quality (bad) carbohydrate heavy food. I got IBS thanks to a bad diet that I probably should do more about as adult. In my defense my dad force fed me food as a small child to the point I puked at which point he clipped me round the ear, mushed the puke into the remaining food and continued to shovel it in. And people wonder why I was once a very fussy eater… anyway. Actions have consequences. You keep eating terrible food with little to no veg/fruit based fibres, your gut health will become terrible over time. And there is an increasing casual link between gut health and mental health. Eating bad food in response to bad mental stimuli really is a blight upon modern society. Where once we suffered by with not enough now we suffer by with too much.
