I never really liked Star Wars. Sure the lightsabers were cool and the set piece battle scenes were even cooler but as far as stories go? Absolute meh. However even I, as someone in the same age range as The Drinker as well as a slew of other well known purveyors of media content, feel a lot of nostalgia for a time wherein Star Wars was a cultural bulwark. Nay. A lodestone of western cultural gestalt. What happened? Id pol nonsense is what happened. Where once I laughed at the downfall of Star Wars now I weep. But then again Amazon dun did my Lord of The Rings dirty so now maybe I share some camaraderie for those who saw their beloved IP fall to id pol nonsense. Either way I lament what has happened to an IP I once cared little for.
