  8. Wonder if the Three Gorges Dam will be getting a video on this channel some time soon. Now sure there has been no massive collapse yet but holy moly has that dam been battered this year by seasonal flooding and after looking into it, seems the Chinse Communist Party made a right white elephant out of TGD from the get go. No proper scoping study? Yikes. Now I cannot remember the correct term off the top of my head but pressure cavitation (basically massively under pressure water forcing tiny cracks open in rock and concrete) combined with gravity dam design that has no bedrock linkage beyond weight; was never going to last. The main issue, beyond the hundreds of millions of souls living downstream, is some 13 nuclear powerplants are along the Yangtze River....and the now infamous Wuhan Viral Research Facility no less (already flooded out from my undestanding). Things could get very messy should TGD fail and there are minds better than I that say it was doomed from the get go as project let alone one of the world biggest dams.

  9. 0:38 Rewatching this video I am struck by this picture. So ya know that Rio De Janerio 1950s picture that gets memed? Ya know, the one with the smiling woman in the dress, looking over her shoulder, in the middle of a road, and it gets memed for. Look, LOOK. Look at how clean and tidy everything is. Well. That picture. Sure there anit much happiness like in the oft memed photo I mention but by god if that picture is not neat and tidy. Contrast that with, how shall I put this, modern movements of impoverished peoples? It anit a pretty nor tidy picture. Just what exactly went wrong. Not that I am saying there was never messy movements of people through history but it does seem like the 18th/19th century of people had something going for them despite all we have going for modern society. I have my own subjective take on things but to try and be objective how's this? Diffusion of personal responsility as the state/corporate/smart tech/various bollox exerts a larger influence on day to day lives leaves to a greater bystander effect in all matters. Be they digital, philosphical or life impacting.

  11. I'll be honest, as an Englishman I want capitol punishment back. Our MPs told us a life sentence would mean life but that simply is not the case with early release, time served etc. Still though, great video. Love that bit on the road to the scaffold.
