For the first time in my life I recently went through a few months of 70+ hour work weeks, that’s what I get for wanting to be a head chef lol. But anyway it was not by choice and I spent those months doing what I could to get a few more chefs in the building so I would not have to carry the whole operation on my back. A back already damaged by 2 different work accidents no less. The management did not understand why I wanted more chefs on less hours but as I pointed out to them maybe if the last head chef was not working 60-70 hour weeks he would not have resigned with no notice. So now the kitchen is a happy kitchen, the staff are not over worked, my 2nd chef and myself both get 2 days off joined together, the foods never been better, customers happy etc. So while the money was nice I’d rather have more time off.
