  1. Ultimately, the reason for the malfunction of the MCAS system isn’t really the issue here. Poor design has been responsible for the deaths of many people over the history of commercial aircraft. No, the problem here is that Boeing deliberately concealed the systems implementation in the Max to bypass the regulatory requirements that would come with it. People died to save Boeing money. It’s that simple.
