  1. +WizzardR "Australia are British decendants just as much as America" Ahhh no The UK and Australia are socially, legally and linguistically far more tightly linked to each other than to the US. Australia and the US may have both started as colonies whose people were at odds with British society, and those colonies inhabitants shared a similar skin colour, but that's where the similarities end.

  2. Its not just 'mate' that is a crossover between the UK and Australia I'm Australian and I use some of these words quite frequently, as do a lot of people I know
