  1. pan evaporation rates in excess of 1.5 m per year = salination. unless it flushes to the ocean where does the salt go?

  2. before we shit this idea out of existence; we could engineer a sustainable version(?) or is there a fundamental issue ( probably related to evap and salinity) that curses the idea...can we not manage a work around based on massive fresh water inflows and flushing? ..some commenters seem to think we are pumping the sea inland - indeed we are not - fresh water, millions of cubic meters of fresh water.
