  1. by the time Afgan gets it act together, it will be cheaper and easier to get and process the minerals in space - Afgan will have missed its chance. How long could it take for Afgan to get enough social stability to advance the infrastructure to start ? 50 years? think of where the tech and the focus will be then...all of it off planet, Afgan is destined to be a hinterland of tribalism, and probably valued for it by anthropologists who can use it as a petri dish of medieval society when the rest of the world is past post modernism?
