"Chinese goods are garbage".
Lol. More talking points.
Yeah i guess that whenever i have goods stamped with " made in china" them being cheap flimsy trash level quality goods is just a coincidence? are you really gonna pretend that " made in china" is a sign of quality? gtfo
"You haven't been to China, and you don't know anyone who works there or owns a factory, do you ?"
what does this have anything to do with what i said about labor conditions, laws and regulations?
"You are also not in the business of importing goods, are you ?"
Uhh its almost impossible to find anything NOT made in china in your average major retailor, so please tell me what me importing goods has to do with anything i siad?
"You have also not taken the time to look at how quickly China has dealt with pollution. They have done more in two years in Shanghai than the best city in the US managed in 50 years. "
sounds like talking points to deflect from the overall point that china is the largest polluter on the planet, with india in a close second...
"They have planted more trees, and de-desertified more land."
More talking points
"Their vehicle emission standards and timescales are beyond anything the US could dream of."
More talking points
"They close companies that pollute, instead of levying a pointless fine."
Laughable, i guess all the pollution just comes from nowhere... oooooorrr just more talking points
"US Labour laws are laughable compared to the rest of the developed world. And, once again, I am guessing you know nothing at all about the labour laws in China."
Yeah because companies in the US need suicide nets, and use slave labor.. stop shilling for china, its disgusting... unless youre Chinese, then, good for you
"Disgusting and visceral". Superlatives and nothing more, while dodging the question. There's a place on the left for you."
Yeah, .because having a country known for shoddy craftsmanship and poor sanitation and pollution standards is where we want to have most of our masks and medicines from.. yeah wonderful to have very important goods in the hands of a foreign nation is fantastic...
way to go, im sure they pay you well

@_Iscream you know what? the fact that you added your " significant" qualifier in there means even if i DID show you links, you would deny what i said
by the way i just googled
"chinese spy arrested in US"
and there were plenty of links...
" and that the US actually has black ops, that is"
What do you want me to do? cant show you proof of things not made public yet. i can however tell you that there have been countless " conspiracies" like operation mocking bird, operation Northwoods, the Tuskegee experiment. you know, conspiracies that turned out to be true..
now you can pretend that the US doesnt have secret off the record ops, but that would just be foolishly naive because even wikipedia has an article on it...
A black operation or black op is a covert or clandestine operation by a government agency, a military unit or a paramilitary organization; it can include activities by private companies or groups. Key features of a black operation are that it is secret and it is not attributable to the organization carrying it out.
A single such activity may be called a black bag operation; that term is primarily used for covert or clandestine surreptitious entries into structures to obtain information for human intelligence operations. Such operations are known to have been carried out by the FBI, CIA, KGB, Mossad, MI6, ASIS, COMANF, DGSE, AISE, CNI, MSS, R&AW, DGFI, SVR, FSB and the intelligence services of other nations.
The main difference between a black operation and one that is merely secret is that a black operation involves a significant degree of deception, to conceal who is behind it or to make it appear that some other entity is responsible (e.g. false flag operations

"Thanks for presenting me with an easy-to-counter false dichotomy."
All you gave me were empty talking points so what is your point?
"Made in China does not mean quality, but there is a massive gulf between "Everything is Garbage" (your claim) to "Means quality"."
Sure, this is true, but it is also true that everything from china is garbage
"Aren't iphones and ipads made in China ?"
Apple products are literal garbage. Overpriced, well marketed garbage
"The quality went up."
A shocking and unbelievable anecdote followed by more of the same
Ryobi make really good quality tools for the price. I have lots, and they never let me down.
Just about every brand of power tools are literal garbage, including name brands like snapon and dewalt. Very few are made quality, and many of those that are are manufactured in japan...
"All from personal experience, and I haven't counted the stuff I'm currently involved in."
Every single thing stamped with MADE IN CHINA in my life, has been literal garbage. from a " technically does its function, but poorly, with poor materials, and wont last long" right to "broken right out of the box, how it was expected to function is beyond me"
".....a quick lookup suggests Kenwood make the best stuff (China); silk (best stuff from China)."
The best electronics come out of japan, full stop. i wouldnt bother with materials from china even silk
"Assuming you are in the US, did you know that in 1999, your government spent $80m of your money on anti-Cuban propaganda ?
i.e. it widely publicised everything wrong with the country, while ignoring everything right about it."
I am aware, what i would like you to make me aware of is what this has to do with the conversation? this isnt a " you are just propagandized with anti china propaganda" problem, this is a " every interaction i have had with china has been negative in my entire long sad life" problem
"was astonished how much better the place was than the picture portrayed."
Yeah and i once saw a documentary about car culture in cuba, where trade restrictions made importation of materials and parts very difficult, so this resulted in an extreme recycling and refurbishment drive, in the sense that nearly everything needed to be reused, so it was very interesting to me as i find throw away and planned obsolescence to be grievous disservice to the environment individual consumer, and the markets as a whole... what does this have to do with anything else i said previously?
"My guess is that the government still has a department paid to find out the worst things about places that don't share its ideology, and probably spends far more money on it now than $80m."
I dont need anyone else to tell me that china sucks, i can see it with my own eyes... " propaganda" isnt an argument when the imported goods are of poor quality, the job loss, gutting of local economies of their manufacturing base, general destruction of the working class, and witnessing a massive shift in power based on the decisions of very few individuals...
"So if it had happened at more places than Foxconn, my guess is that the US would have made it well-known."
Or, a thing that china manages to do well, is lie and deceive
"Doesn't the US have a suicide rate roughly twice as high as that in China ?"
LOL the "chinese published statistics are accurate" game... no that i think the US statistic gathering is really that accurate, i at least have more faith in accuracy than china.
Its clear you are shilling for china because you have a vested interest in china...
