@JakeM218 " you know its been looked after"
No, you dont, you dont know anything. If you knew anything about how most dealerships operate, there would be very little faith in those records. You know nothing of how the cars been mistreated, or even if the services paid for and given receipts for are even done in the first place.
With phone repairs, what’s to stop aftermarket companies making cheaper inferior parts - screens etc when one breaks.
How is this any different than OE manufactures using tech that breaks after a short time with no way to repair it? why does it matter when most of the OE parts are made with the same materials and process as the " inferior" ones, you know, because they probably came from the same factory to begin with.
Without software blocks, you would have no idea this has been done.
Yes, yes you would.
Buying secondhand then becomes a minefield, and residual values drop, so consumers lose money.
And that is how its always been and always will be, except now we have more and more power congregating at the top, forcing this terrible practices and have people like you defend it,.

@JakeM218
Why are resale values higher a lot higher on an Apple computer, than a windows machine?
Because there are more windows machine manufactures than apple manufactures? Because apple has spent decades on an " image" and thats what sells? it has nothing to do with anything apple does with their actual products. its literally name brand recognition
As long as the longevity is present, then there’s nothing to worry about with manufacturers being solely responsible for repairing their own products. If the longevity isn’t there, then a product will get a negative reputation and the manufacturer will develop better replacement parts, or a re-design.
Except they dont, because we are literally having this discussion right now. There is no longevity when manufacturers push planned obsolescence and parts designed to break after warranty
I’ve got a stack of windows laptops that have failed over time, but I’m still using a 2009 MacBook Pro, and it’s flawless.
Thats great my 2007 macbook pro is currently a paperweight because of software issues apple has. but i can still boot up all my windows machines and they all work as intended. Every apple product i have had over the years has been less than great...
I also love knowing that the secondhand devices I’ve bought are genuine.
You literally cant know that if it isnt in brand new packaging
People can make inferior batteries. I can buy a battery kit for an old iPhone dirt cheap online, or I can go to Apple and pay 60.
And the fact that the batteries are made in the same factories in the same countries means they are totally different. ANd its not like OE apple batteries are even that good batteries....
The security in knowing that the battery genuinely meets or exceeds safety requirements, and my phone will be opened and worked on properly, means I’ll choose Apple any day over a third party repair shop.
Wow, have you actually ever been to an apple repair shop? i know people that worked there, and you are really putting alot of faith in something that cant hold it.....
Good keep up the suckling to a massive companies that gives zero fucks about you and doesn't care about your products
