  1. Most bill of rights issues are very functional. That's why they're on the bill of rights. Government, even if it isn't being self-servicing and is actually out for the betterment of "the people", should want to infringe on most of them in order to better do their job. And if government was actually always good, that may actually be okay. Sure, privacy proponents would disagree, but it doesn't matter anyway. Government isn't always good. And so it's important for there to be some red tape on it to slow it down where it can be abusive.
