  1. Beating the virus without unconstitutional authoritarian measures required concerted cooperation from everyone. It's clear that's not possible. So just rip the band-aid off. Open everything up. And be careful out there.

  2. As of about two weeks ago, the death rate from all causes was very slightly higher than typical for this time of year, but lower than peak flu season (January-February). The confirmed death rate is of course delayed so we can't see if there's been an upswing yet. And a resurgence is quite possible. Nevertheless, fear mongering is rampant. Make reasonable decisions for yourself (and those around you).
