@free29ct You can play the campaign just building intelligently on your own. The beginning of the first act may be a little hard, but once you have movement ability and such it's fine enough. The game lets you respawn outside the boss room infinitely so aside for a few with healing, you can just attrition them down. Once you finish the campaign you only get 6 tries per zone/boss and the game gets a lot tougher. Moreover, skills only reach level 20 and you don't get too many additional levels for skillpoints so blindly grinding doesn't provide much progress compared to well designed equip/skill interactions. You need to start taking advantage of the mechanics. But that's probably 100+ hours in.

It's not a bleed it's just phys dot. Panicked flask helps keep you alive long enough to kill though.

This particular boss is an example of one that should have voicelines indicating the mechanic.

@cooliod00d While there are exceptions, it's bad for degens, as they get a free pass through a lot of defensive layers.

@nevous8 From PoE wiki: Blood Ritual is a debuff from the clone of Kadaris, Crimson Mayor. The debuff use a generic skull icon that shared with a lots of debuffs. Blood Ritual itself deals physical damage over time. Since it is NOT Bleed or Corrupted Blood, the debuff cannot be removed by flask mod or mod that prevent corrupted blood. Player need to kill the boss and the clone quickly and /or not step on the ground effect to prevent take too much DOT. Alternatively, life recovery and physical damage taken as, may able to migrate the DOT from this debuff.

Oh, and while a death log would help for those instant kills, for stuff like THIS, I think the actual answer is... put some lore on the map to help people get a bit of a grasp of the boss mechanic before stepping into the boss room. It can be either in the map itself as a scroll, or just on the map item itself.

Soul eater bosses enter the chat.

A lot of deaths in PoE are just in a pack doing perfectly fine and then instantly dead. That's a problem with PoE. And this boss is crap. But you know it's the mass degen killing you. It's no surprise. And it's actually relatively slow on the first try- unlike a lot of stuff it can't really just instantly kill you out of nowhere. The bullshit is it ramps up even if you die so if you're having any trouble to begin with because you put bad mods on the map or whatever it capitalizes on that and basically bricks the map.

@Kajiyaification Blood red is usually physical spell/dot in this game.

@@lintm Crimson Township. On rare occasion run when I accidently chisel and alch one thinking it's a crimson temple. Oh, I already used the chisels, how bad could it be?!

The problem is people build their defenses around hits so the DoT ends up getting a fairly free pass. It personally takes me about 3 weeks into the league to have enough other stuff taken care to be able to fit in some more DoT protection. And at that point I'm about ready to move on. That said, one thing I would really wish they'd do is let us change pantheon on the fly, or at most with a minor cooldown, rather than force us to portal back. I also really wish they'd let us set 2 minor pantheons. (Or just rework the whole thing to be more interesting...) Ralakesh is really helpful for these situations- "25% reduced Physical Damage over Time taken while moving" in particular. But I only bother to go set it when I'm doing labyrinth (all the spinny trap things are phys dot)

The boss battle builds up a screen-wide damage over time effect that keeps stacking if you take too long to kill the boss. There are other targets in the room that cause this effect, so you can also opt to get rid of those first instead of targeting down the boss. In any case, it's extremely hard to regain a foothold if you don't do one or the other in time.

People run Crimson Temple. People don't run Crimson Township. Crimson Township sucks. But AFAIK it can still drop mageblood cards so you may as well run the ones you have. But if you make it too spicy trying to get mageblood cards you risk not getting the completion while Crimson Temple boss is a pushover.
