I have dark brown hair, naturally. My daughters were blond when children. I have seen the Solomon-Iceland type in town, and now I realize that it comes naturally, which is very helpful to know. It is so easy to get the prejudice that this color was only something done in order to «fit in». Blue eyes/dark skin and blond hair/dark skin exist naturally. First time I saw a blue eyed woman, I saw someone who seemed terribly embarassed. I bet she had gotten a lot of staring directed at her. And we all suspected that she was wearing contact lenses. We need to grow up. Thanks.

@mmhthree the earlier people who settled in Norway were dark haired. Especially on the west coast dark hair is more common. Many say it is due to spanish sailors who stranded after shipwrecks.

@youknowme1475 yes, possibly some wandering people. My paternal grandmother used to joke about that. I got my dad to take a DNA - test in order to find out, and from that I know it is the U4 - lineage. That didn’t really tell me enough, maybe you know some more?

@youknowme1475 There is a possibility, but I haven’t found anything yet. FamilyTreeDNA should also possibly reveal some connections.
