  1. The destruction of Mariupol came in lagre extent from Crimea. Just another good reason for getting Crimea back to Ukraine. It is obvious that any trace of glasnost and the historical Duma is long gone. The surviving dreams of tsardom seem to be back combined with the nostalgia of being a super power.

  4. My impression is that ukrainians on the onset have a negotiating mindset. So if they don’t want to negotiate, there is a reason behind that decision.

  5. It seems that the myth that the Soviet-army did it all by themselves is going to fall apart. I used to think that myth only deserved to be forgotten, but sadly it has been used to a tragic outcome.

  10. Russia has abused its position on Crimea. Abuse it, loose it, goes the saying. Instead of withdrawing peacefully from the old marine base, Mariupol and many other places were destroyed from Crimea. If Russia did have reason to claim the peninsula, that reason was lost by the destruction of Mariupol and other war crimes.

  16. @ruger6049 Well, I recently talked to someone with another view of Trump victory. I started stating my viewpoint, and I could see the other part got angry, he controlled himself and we went on with what we were supposed to do. So focus on the relationship and what is important in that relationship. We meet lots of people who look at the world differently. Sometimes it matters a lot. Sometimes it can be sidestepped.

  17. @ruger6049 That can make you feel crazy. You might ask where they got that information.. and then distance yourself emotionally from it. If it is just some thought process, you might leave it, but if it can be connected to some sort of sinister influence, I would be watchful.

  20. That would be outrageous. There are assumptions from some supporting Russia that the West is behind the war. Then it is important to support Ukraine's own decision in this matter. You do not mess with a healthy ukrainian.
