I once knew an estranged parent. She could be cutting in her remarks. On the other hand she was a caring person. But she also had testified in court against her daughter’s boyfriend, who had been hiding illegal weapons in her flat. Yes, she missed her grandchildren and was not memorized when she died. No reception, no informing acquaintances. I am sorry about her destiny. I have not heard her daughter’s version, though. And she did not make public fuzz about it. There was a lot of uncaring in her family of origin. Your words bring me relief, as I do search myself whenever my children put some distance I did not expect. We grown ups and elder ones need to create reasons for trust and relating. We are responsible for doing that.
