  2. It could be seen as a rhetorical question. Beyond the spoken words, there was this feeling that the POTUS plan would not work, since it got questioned. It looked so nice, now it was ruined. And then there was this element of reality show. I don’t think Zelensky was to blame for that escalation. Maybe he could have kept a stiff upper lip when it did escalate, taking notes to himself that he was dealing with an unrealiable partner with no true understanding, and that he should try to get away from any further agreements.
