I have been wondering about language politics. It can been very complex, and it can raise a lot of animosity if it is not dealt with well. Ukraïnian has not been considered a real language by many Russian speakers, as well as Ukraïne as a real country. Not just Little Russia, which was an old name. Then there was also the possibility of visiting family and friends who remain in other parts of the former Soviet Union. I know that these issues have been a source of discontent. Good solutions to these areas, if at all possible. Maybe not currently, though, as long as the existence of Ukraïne is disputed.

@lishen9223 That is something to consider in negotiation. I would not harm anyone to respect the need to speak your mother tongue.

@lishen9223 from Norway’s history we know how much turmoil and anguish that can arise from language oppreision.
