  1. It's this way with Arabic from Morocco and Algeria. I also experience it a lot with Americans not understanding many British accents.

  3. @CatsRidingDinos exposure. I grew up in an international town and I can understand most everyone even when speaking other languages. My mum's lived here longer, but is from Chicago area and struggles much more than me.
