  1.  @robert-h2x  you do know tanks are much slower off-road and it makes maintenance more difficult particularly with Major Mud gumming up your tracks.

  3. It is only the latest evolution of using air observation. We had observation balloons coordinating artillery since the 1800s followed by planes then helicopters.

  5. No the issue is that they have trouble maintaining their tools. The Moskva was famously sunk from what should have been survivable hits because they lacked the proper damage control and the CIWS system didn’t work.

  9. That only applies to certain models. Early Aircraft carriers had weak flight decks that could be easily destroyed. Armored decks were mainly used by the British at the cost of aircraft capacity.

  10. Well you also forget it was a generation behind the then-current Abrams and designed more for fighting the M60. Plus Saddam was using the even cheaper budget models the Soviets made that stripped the most advanced features.

  11. They are only taking about HE shells. Not armor-piercing shells or fancy laser guided munitions. The issue is less accuracy and more the report is about hitting a moving target that would probably dodge your shots.
