@fallendeus Or at least have the Leslie Jones serve as the straight man of the team like Ernie Hudson did in the original. I don’t think I will ruffle any feathers if I said that Winston has the best line in the movie. The issues with that movie isn’t just gender but it isn’t funny as a comedy movie because there is straight man in the cast to help the jokes land. The original film has Janine and Winston fill the role of straight man.

And then she made claim about Sesame Street that isn't correct and suggested she would teach kids about Japanese War Crimes. She talks like someone teaching kindergarten I would have to say maybe wait for high school before you get to Japan's war crimes because ffs one of them has Rape in its name and it isn't a metaphor.

@missourisurvivalandoutdoor9547 Except Abby isn't sympathetic at all. She wanted to kill a pregnant woman. And she killed Joel only for his first name as we never got his surname until the second game and ignores her father was going to kill a young girl for a lost cause and attack Joel first.

@aperson9847 Except Abby has no empathy. When she was told the person she was about to kill pregnant at one point she said "good." That is a monster. Or should I mention how during the death of Joel, she didn't give him the mercy of bleeding out when Joel had the common decent to instantly shoot her dad.

@traviscue2099 It is possible to survive that bard in your torso. And it is hardly character progression as Joel goes from being a paranoid survivalist to telling everyone his full name. You also are flat out wrong at Joel and Ellie being sociopaths. They are not. Joel killed her father in self-defense and Ellie shows remorse for the people she kills multiple times in both games.

She still enjoyed the prospect of killing a pregnant woman and hypocritical killed Joel in front of his surrogate daughter not to mention bleeding out would be a mercy given she wanted to stop so she could brutally murder him at her leisure. She has no empathy because if she did, she would have stopped herself as soon as Ellie showed up and connected the dots that is what empathy is. You have yet to prove she has any empathy while gives all the evidence to the contrary.

@aperson9847 Except I am not giving anyone the benefit of the doubt just pointing the clear lack of empathy given what we are presented with and how the bad writing results in her becoming a sociopath with no redeeming qualities and the fact she gleefully wanted to kill Dina which you ignore because it doesn't fit your narrative clinches it. I am not holding her to a high standard just the standard of not being a sociopath. You are still being pretentious.

@aperson9847 You are using what is called a strawman argument. Ignoring the context. Joel tortured someone because they kidnapped Ellie and he was trying to save her. Abby did it for her own sadistic pleasure and she does not find redemption as she still tried to kill a pregnant woman and would have if Lev wasn't there. That doesn't say much about her moral compass other than it is nonexistent.

@traviscue2099 The dude tried to stab Joel so yes it was self-defense. And you don't have much medical knowledge. A barb is easily survivable there isn't anything in the lower torso that is instantly fatal if hit and it keeps the blood in until removed.

Yep the substitution also showed another problem with the movie on a comedy level. For a joke to work you often a straight man to bounce off weirdness. Jeanine and Winston both filled this role in the original movie.

This could be a glitch if they didn't remember to put any programed exceptions to the romance mechanic. Glitches do occur when a mechanic is implemented and they did not think it completely through.

Okay I kinda get behind the discussion of Japanese War Crimes. The fact they don't acknowledge the Rape of Nanking is just wrong. But it is not the place of an ESL teacher.
