@KingOhmni It wasn’t a different President it was Congress. The Emancipation Proclamation however did put the foot in the door to allow the 13th Amendment to be passed and by making it 100% clear this was a war about and not about states right or the other crap lost causers tend to spout, prevented them from getting support from Britain or France who previously outlawed slavery.

@KingOhmni He was many things but not a tyrant. Tyrants don't give up emergecy powers when they don't need them anymore. Lincoln was one of the only leaders with the moral strength to give that power up. And calling Congress the Executive Branch is inaccurate itself. It is in the Legislative Branch. In layman's terms, what you did was say a Cop is part of the fire department. It actually does refute what you claim quite a bit. As the Emanicpation Proclamation "not freeing all the slaves" isn't a valid argument as you care saying it did something it wasn't intended to do. It was intended to free the slaves in Union-held territory in the South and formalize what was already an unspoken rule about how the Union Army would handle slaves that ended up in their hands after a battle.
