@DeepVoicedDude Really? There is plenty of cases of sock puppetry which is what OP is talking about. A recent example is the film Gotti. Nobody saw it and it was a huge flop but it has more positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes than 2018’s Halloween which is a movie people actually liked. It is probably not a coincidence the former stars a big name actor from a specific cult.

It is just a loaded term in my opinion. Just because something has a rash of negative reviews from either viewers or professional critics doesn’t mean it isn’t some grand conspiracy to ruin the film. The one exception and the only truly documented case of review bombing is from the 20th Century where Citizen Kane was torn to shreds by the media empire run by William Randolph Hurst because he was one of the inspirations for the title character.

@AkiSan0 Part of why I saw it is a loaded term is because we already have a term for the example you mention with Shogun 2. That is called Sock Puppertry.

To be fair, any Warcraft 3 player has a right to review that crappy remaster as they deliberately screwed over the players of that game.

@ritobug483 Nah Bishock Infinite has nuance. The idea is that Comstock is an extremist end of nationalism (even people back in the 1890’s wouldn’t put John Wilkes Booth on the same pedestal as the founding fathers we see in Colombia) and a part of the backstory is the rest of the US doesn’t want to be associated with Colombia’s brand of America and responded to Colombia’s involvement in the Boxer Rebellion with a piss off and don’t do crap in our name. Similarly, Fitzroy and Vox Populi are another end of extremism using abhorrent tactics in their revolution and having a fairly strict Us vs them philosophy. We see this in the first scene with Fitzroy as she asks Booker what side he is on in a tone that clearly meant to convey if you are not with me, you are my enemy.

I wouldn’t call any of that review bombing just a backlash.

@AkiSan0 Eh I think Sock Puppetry fits with bot accounts as someone is running those bot accounts.

How that is even so controversial is beyond me. It is pretty cut and dry issue. Do you believe murder is wrong? If yes you should be against abortion.

@charlesmiv3842 Not really. Hell I can explain why the Last of Us 2 is bad without mentioning Abby’s gender. I could explain why Politics ruined TLJ without mentioning the gender of Rey

I honestly think review bombing is a loaded term for review backlash.

And positive review bombing is sock puppetry. Review Bombing is a buzzword.

@SleepyMatt-zzz The reasoning behind the choice to have that person which was based on flawed political logic.
1
@thedarkapex5327 No the logic is flawed. The argument Neil made comes from a grifter who deliberately took everything out of context.

@thomasmieulet193 How do you keep up such a muscular physique in a word with no gyms or steroids? Or how they doomed humanity by having the last immune person not able to pass on her immunity.
1
@thomasmieulet193 Except Abby doesn’t have any manual labor. She was raised in a hospital. And you can’t get a sperm donation as this a is an apocalypse.
1
@thomasmieulet193 I am simply pointing out some wholes in your arguments.
