I think it should time to point when Jackson added stuff that wasn’t in the books he had a reasonable explanation for it. An example is that Crossbows weren’t a thing in the books but we see Uruk-Hai use them during the Battle of Helm’s Deep. As Jackson explained, he didn’t think the Uruk-Hai were capable of having the needed dexterity to properly use a traditional long bow and came up with the idea they use Crossbows instead because of that and is supported by the fact that Tolkien had the villains be more industrialized in general which a crossbow being cheap and easier to mass produce would fit with better than a longbow, and the Hobbit book makes a offhand mention that Goblins (which are basically Orcs with a different name because The Hobbit was intended for children) would at some develop even more advanced technology on par with the stuff used in World War I before the knowledge to make that was lost.

@Patrick-qed Glorfindel only shows up for that one scene whereas Arwen is a major character in the story which was Arwen was the one to do that.

@Patrick-qed But he doesn't join the Fellowship so he was kinda pointless unlike Arwen who was a love interest to Aragorn.
