@jehadjawed4241 The fact it was DLC was also a problem for me. It was kinda a retcon in that way.

It is not an agenda though. That said Black Ops II rewrote History a bit with Mujihaiden where they turn on the heroes because some people don't understand the difference between Mujihaiden and the Taliban. Also I love how they complained about North's cameo when the game specifically covers the US supported rather unsavory groups and individuals. That is why he was the historical consultant he was involved in it. They did the same in the first game where they brought a retired General who fought firsthand in Vietnam on as a historical consultant.

@D3R3bel Except the interviewer wasn't in the trailer. They were focusing entirely on the interviewee. This a case of them trying to shoot the messenger because of guilt by association.

@dontfallyoumighthurtyourse4694 Well it simple. If you are familiar with the concept of a casting couch, it was like that. One female indie developer was exposed cheating on her boyfriend with several games journalists in return for good reviews on her games. This came to light when the boyfriend (who later was harassed until he committed suicide) found out and wrote a blog post about it. The journalist then started attacking gamers who demanding for journalism reform because if this was any other industry, those journalist would have been fired.

@dontfallyoumighthurtyourse4694 Because the Journalist saw the movement as a personal attack.

@elLooto Facism and Communist the only difference is how you spell it.

@Stealth_Gamer92 Acutally the reality was the inverse. The Russian had plenty of guns (The Mosin-Nagant their main rifle of the war is the second most common gun history based on production numbers only being topped by the AK) Ammo was thing that was scarce. That said they did use Zerg Rush tactics as they could take casualties in numbers that cripple Germany and still have double the amount killed to send.

"Esteemed publication Kotaku" Good one UEG. Good one. Also the Oliver North thing is just dumb if you play the game. The shady activities North did for the US in the 80's is part of the reason he was brought on as a historical consultant. The game shows the CIA working with UNITA Leader Jonas Savimbi who wasn't a pleasant person in real life and shows them working Panamanian Dictator Manuel Noriega only to then overthrow him when they no longer needed him which was what happened in real life even if the context in the game was changed to tie it into the main plot. It wasn't a controversy in that game. The real Black Ops II controversy were featuring former CIA Director Petrayus as the Secretary of Defense in 2025 which is now rather unlikely given what happened to him before the game came out, and Noriega filing a frivolous lawsuit over being painted as murder in the game.

They did with the first two games also. One thing I liked about the first Black Ops was showing every Russian was genuine communist just like how some people need to be reminded not all Germans were Nazis. The first country the Soviets invaded was their own.

@theoneand0nly874 Because NASA knew to built their spacecraft out of stuff radiation couldn't penetrate. Plus there was plenty of evidence supporting we did land on the moon. Like how any with a radio pointed at the moon could pick up the transmissions of the astronauts.

Well sometimes they are right. For example Area 51 turned out to be real.

@aureliodeprimus8018 well the thing the non-agression included details like giving Russia half of Poland when the Nazis took over, and the Germans tested equipment they would later use during the War at Russian training grounds to get around the Treaty of Versailles.
1
@aureliodeprimus8018 Yeah keeping their end of the bargain but at the same fighting the Winter War with Finland who were Germany's allies at the time.
1
Yes but to be fair, the game is set before that incident.

@AscendantStoic Well Call of Duty has always been with its politics. The Modern Warfare games has a strong anti-nationalist message for example. All the villains are motivated by a strong sense of nationalism and it isn't just with the Russians but also Shepard from Modern Warfare 2 and Al-Asad from the first game.
