@KazuhiraMiller46 Because something can be trash without being woke. For example. Call of Duty Modern Warfare III is a pretty bad game but not because it is woke, but because it was rushed out the door by the developers and was an extra season of Warzone (a battle royale mode) sold as a full price game. Or Halo 5: Guardians is a bad game not because it was woke but because it had a boring story that made creative decisions that fans despised for robbing Halo 4 of its emotional impact and not focusing on characters people care about (part of the reason the story is boring you are basically playing a Mission Impossible movie from the perspective of the dudes chasing the heroes).

@elk3407 Bioshock is apolitical as it attacks all extremist positions. The first game was a specific deconstruction of Ayn Rand's Objectivism philosophy while the second game attacks the opposite extreme of collectivism. The third game attacks Nationalism with the game making it abundantly clear that Colombia is extremely racist and xenophobic even for the time (they have a cult devoted to John Wilkes Booth for example).

Not all. Hi-Fi Rush while flawed, has a great story with lots of clever humor.

@Spaciousfoot You clearly haven’t played it is a very story-based game,

Well even today things get called woke without much evidence. Exhibit A: No Time to Die. The film still focused on Bond he wasn't replaced. They just take that he starts the film retired something established in Spectre out of context. They killed him off yes, but that is textbook torching the franchise so nobody could ruin it after this film. Exhibit B: Wonder Woman 1984 the main villain is compared to Donald Trump but they leave out the context. The character of Maxwell Lord was created in 1989 and was a hero at the time. His film counterpart is portrayed as a flawed and shortsighted, but ultimately sympathetic character which is close to his character in the comics at the time he was first created. If they really want to mock Trump, they would have used the later version of Maxwell Lord who was an evil monster.

@m16dude967 We already have White Tiger which is the same gimmick as Black Panther. Also Blade is basically Van Helsing.

I feel it should be possible in say a RPG where you have a character creator. That is why I would say a game like Fallout is a better RPG than Mass Effect as you have more options for how your character looks.

@wrongthinker843 That is an issue with this culture war. Some genuinely good works that aren't woke or political get caught in the crossfire. Joker for example became a political Rorschach test that missed the point about the movie. Or The Batman got called Woke for the abundance of white villains ignoring the context (Batman is fighting Carmen Falcone and the Italian Mafia which restrict their membership to full-blooded Italians) and the source material (the majority of corrupt figures in Batman's early career were white because Gotham was inspired by cities like New York and Chicago during the height of the Mafia's power).
